Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Water Quality Control Division – Local Assistance Unit Manager

armandoherald-80x80Armando currently works for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in the Water Quality Control Division. He manages the Local Assistance Unit and enjoys working with his staff to provide training, technical assistance, and management support services to public water systems so they can strengthen their ability to supply safe drinking water to the public. He particularly enjoys this work because it gives him an opportunity to use public speaking and coaching skills.

Armando graduated in 1997 from the University of Colorado with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Management. Since graduating, Armando has garnered more than sixteen years of experience in various engineering roles including Environment, Health and Safety in Oil and Gas Drilling and Production, Power Transmission and Distribution, Telecommunications, Air Quality, and Drinking Water.

He is a graduate of the RIHEL Advanced Leadership Training Program (2010) and served as a RIHEL Coach for the past four years. Armando is a very happy husband and father enjoying nothing more than the time he spends with his family. Armando is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, camping, hiking and geocaching.
