If we have questions about the focus of our team leadership initiative/project, may we contact program staff for guidance?
Yes! The Program Director is available to discuss your team project/initiative idea(s). Call 303-871-3550 or submit your question in the form below.
Can you provide examples of the kinds of projects you are looking for from applicant teams?
Program teams are required to conduct an initiative/project that requires their leadership, and addresses a built environment issue in their community through healthy community design principles. For example, a team initiative/project might focus upon: (a) expanding the local trail system to connect underserved communities with key service destinations (e.g. grocery, school, civic center) to promote walking and bicycling; or (b) developing zoning incentives to promote healthy food retail in underserved neighborhoods; or (c) instituting low-impact design standards to city parking lots to improve storm water managementand reduce runoff pollution into local waterways. Also, here are short summaries of the team projects from the LHCD Class of 2015 are available. These are just examples. If you have any questions about whether or not your team project is a fit for the LHCD program, the program director is available to discuss it with you.
