Katie Roberts is currently a Senior Associate at Longenecker & Associates (L&A) – a small-woman owned consulting company based in Las Vegas, NV. She currently manages the company’s work on the environmental cleanup contract at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Prior to working at L&A, she was appointed by Governor Martinez as the Resource Protection Division Director for the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED). In this role, she served as Chair of the Petroleum Storage Tank Committee for the State of NM and was the New Mexico representative to the Rocky Mountain Low Level Waste Board. Katie is an environmental scientist with 17 years of experience in environmental permitting, regulation, remediation and public outreach. She earned her BA in Environmental Geography from Colgate University in 2001 and a MS in Environmental Management from Duke University in 2011. In addition to the positions mentioned above, her experience includes nearly seven years working as an environmental scientist and supervisor at the NMED’s Hazardous Waste Bureau (HWB) and almost five years as a project manager and group leader at LANL. Katie and her husband, Tal-ee, and their dog, Diego, have lived in Santa Fe, NM for the past 15 years. They enjoy skiing, traveling, hiking and eating out in Santa Fe! Additionally, Katie was a former Division 1 soccer player, and still plays on a few teams near her home in Albuquerque.
